Description/Reviews:
Garcia Peoples have been playing with PG Six for a while, and with Nightcap at Wits’ End, this thinking man’s jam band successfully integrates the keyboard player’s lilting, British-folk-influenced proclivities into their monumental grooves. The band’s fifth full-length splices the kind of serpentine folk-blues licks you might expect from Richard Thompson into their fiery onslaughts, especially on cuts like “Altered Place” and “Painting a Vision that Carries.”

orchestral string section
Description/Reviews:
Opening with the 13 minute epic space prog rock of title track ‘We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal’ (written with Peter Hammill and Paul Weller) the themes of mortality and immortality are then musically and conceptually catapulted to the far flung corners of the AA sonic multiverse over 40+ minutes utilizing choir, moog, a live orchestral string section, piano, harp and a plethora of vintage synth all fed against a backdrop of classic rock and psych samplerdelia courtesy of the Amorphous Androgynous.
Space Odyssey like dystopian choirs and moog of ‘Hymortality’ crash full force into the Led Zep Bonham- like drums of ‘the Immortality Break’ before cascading down into the harp daydream reverie and minimoog space landings, choir and french romantic strings of ‘Physically I’m Here, Mentally Far, Far Away’
‘Psych Recap’ is all backwards voices and guitars / samplerdelia over pounding Tomorrow Never Knows era Beatles bass and drums with dislocated PETER HAMMILL psychedelic tripped out vocals while ‘Synthony On A Theme of Mortality’ builds from an almost Vangelis Bladerunner-esque vintage synthony of some of the themes of the original track (utilising the classic 70s Yamaha CS80 synth beloved of Vangelis)) before triumphantly soaring to lift-off atop a Pink Floyd-like female wailing aria (KENDRA FROST – vocals) against classic vintage guitar rock bringing the whole album to a triumphant ending.

Description/Reviews:
The group ... play improvised, instrumental and unflinchingly exploratory cosmic rock. Veering between the already-blurry lines that border heavy psychedelia, classic-style prog and Hawkwindian space fare. ... That might make Four Riders Take Space Mountain particularly engaging for newcomers, and where some other releases in the vast swath thereof pull from different sessions and offer what feel like extended sections of broader works or are just executed with various aims on their own, the fact that “Approach,” “Ascent” and “Summit” move so smoothly ... and flow so righteously between active and atmospheric sections, ..., as well as the sheer sense of float that comes with the arrival at “Summit,” means that Four Riders Take Space Mountain is a standout even among the band’s other work in being a joy to follow through its progression.

Description/Reviews:
Musically, it evolves on the same path of "Ellesmere II", so the main references are classic prog outfits Yes, King Crimson, Kansas, plus a good amount of jazz-rock, present in every song; but there are also references to contemporary progressive rock and to artists such as Transatlantic, Flower Kings and Spock's Beard. "Wyrd" is therefore a third epic and even more enthralling chapter than the previous one, almost completely instrumental and captivating from the first minute to the very last one.

Description/Reviews:
“Samir” is a direct, powerful and intriguing album, twisted and unpredictable, passionate and modern, where Il Paradiso degli Orchi mix and reinvent once again their PROP(K) MUSIC with a trip through prog, rock, pop, psychedelia, Mediterranean hints and oriental scents, all being the soundtrack to the protagonist’s thoughts.
“Samir” is also the result of a collective work, in which all six musicians of the group took part, creating something strongly personal to give substance to PdO’s progressive rock model. Five tracks for about forty minutes of music where the band concentrate their imagination and move, compared to the previous records, towards more powerful sounds: epic and symphonic moments alternate with irreverent ideas and scratcy arrangements, made with an anarchic and punk attitude that often recalls the best Frank Zappa.

Description/Reviews:
With this new trio, we hear mostly a compositional development in Hallebeek's already impressive and extensive oeuvre. The superb composed and constructed pieces flow very naturally and the fact that the trio recorded actually together in the studio, instead of separated at different locations, contributes to that, for sure. A more than worthy release that keeps on setting the bar high in progressive jazz music, in which technical skill and attractive composition are blending perfectly.
